Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Friday met and held talks with the Chairman of the Ethiopian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa in Addis Ababa.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the Iranian speaker emphasized the need to establish unity among the Muslim ummah, support oppressed Muslims and strengthen relations between Muslims around the world.
He emphasized the need to maintain unity and friendly relations among Islamic religions, noting that there are many different religions in Iran and that the Iranian parliament (also known as the Majlis) includes not only Shiite and Sunni representatives. , adding that there are also followers of other religions, such as: Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians.
Iran has always shown itself to be the only country in the world that stands up against oppression and supports all Muslims regardless of their religion, Ghalibaf said, adding, “If the Muslim ummah unites against Iran’s hostility, There is no doubt that America will win, and this is God’s promise.”
Ghalibaf led a delegation that arrived in the Ethiopian capital on Thursday night and met with officials from the African nation.
