On How Filipinos Help Blockchain Industry and Vice Versa

Mislos: How do you see Filipino blockchain talent contributing to the blockchain industry, and how can events like this unlock those strengths and opportunities?
Mendoza: That’s a very good question. There’s a lot of talent in the Philippines when it comes to the web3 industry. I think events like this give Filipinos the opportunity to be exposed globally. Our web3 ecosystem is still small, but with events like this, our builders in the industry will get more exposure and recognition, which can lead to more opportunities.
I know there are many initiatives happening in the Philippines, like hackathons and developer conferences, which will help showcase our talent globally in web3.
Also, I’d like to add that web3 education is very important for the Philippine ecosystem in terms of crypto. We need to attend these kinds of conferences so we can help educate users in the Philippines about crypto and web3.
On Bitget’s Initiatives for Filipinos
Mislos: What steps are you taking or initiating to make sure that Filipinos can compete internationally?
Mendoza: With Bitget, we have a couple of initiatives. We also have Foresight Ventures, which is a VC arm of Bitget that invests in different projects. We’re looking at projects in the Philippines, so we can provide opportunities in terms of investment and exposure to millions of Bitget users.
We also have two other initiatives: Blockchain4Youth and Blockchain4Her, which are Gracy Chen’s (Bitget CEO) initiatives. These are focused on educating Filipinos, and globally as well. I think these initiatives are very important for Filipinos to take advantage of, and they put us at the forefront of Web3 and crypto in Southeast Asia.
Closing
Mislos: What is your Bitcoin price prediction for December 2024?
Mendoza: Okay, if I’m thinking of the highest price, I’d say around $90,000 by next year. For a bearish scenario, I’d predict around $60,000 to $65,000. That would be my bearish Bitcoin price prediction.
[Editor’s note: The price of Bitcoin at the time of editing is at $96,000 line. ]
