The January transfer window has officially begun and we could be in for a roller coaster few weeks from all of the Premier League’s elite.
Liverpool keeper Mohamed Salah may be grabbing a lot of headlines following his ongoing contractual situation at Anfield, but he is currently in the midst of an impressive transfer saga of his own. There are also many superstars.
Some of Europe’s hottest stars are attracting a lot of interest in January, with Premier League clubs making a new No. 9 their top priority.
Ahead of a hectic few weeks behind the scenes, we take a look at some of the Premier League strikers who could be on the move.
Dawlin Nunuez – Liverpool
Dawlin Nunúez may have just arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2022 for a whopping £64 million transfer fee, but the former Benfica marksman is well worth the hefty price tag. I’m having a hard time.
The Uruguayan international has only scored just two goals in the Premier League so far this season, having failed to find a permanent place under new manager Arn Slott.
While former Wolves star Diogo Jota has often taken on a false nine role, Nunez has only scored one goal in any competition since returning from international break in November.
Over the weekend, CaughtOffside reported that Liverpool are actively considering a move for the 25-year-old, with suggestions that Slott has a new number nine at the top of his January wishlist.
Opinion has been divided since his arrival in the red half of Merseyside two years ago, but it has been suggested that a number of Saudi-based clubs are planning a January swoop.

John Duran – Aston Villa
After all, John Duran enjoyed a sensational start to the new campaign, staying at Villa Park last summer amid serious European interest.
The 21-year-old, who has already scored 12 goals in all competitions and underlines his reputation as one of Europe’s hottest hitting stars, knows his stock is very high.
Duran may be currently serving a three-match suspension following his red card against Newcastle on Boxing Day, but he remains one of the Premier League’s standout players.
The former Chicago Fire youngster may have put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at Villa Park in October, but Duran still appears keen to secure a move from the Midlands.
It’s no secret that PSG are desperate to oust Randal Kolo Muani from the French capital on a permanent transfer this month, with Luis Enrique’s men confident of reaching an agreement. The Daily Mail reported on Saturday.

Evan Ferguson – Brighton
Evan Ferguson may have burst onto the Premier League stage as an 18-year-old sensation two years ago, but the Irish sharpshooter’s career has largely stagnated in recent years.
The former Bohemians starlet has only scored one strike in 12 Premier League appearances so far this season, and has also been plagued by a number of injuries.
Ferguson appears to have disrupted Fabian Hürzeler’s attacking order as former England striker Danny Welbeck continues to cement his place as Brighton’s main man at the Amex.
However, he has attracted a lot of interest from elite players across Europe and there has been much speculation in recent weeks that Brighton would be willing to move Ferguson away from the south coast on a short-term loan deal.
Along with a shocking report that Arsenal are monitoring Ferguson’s situation at the Amex, the Telegraph suggests new West Ham manager Graham Potter is keen to reunite with the 18-cap international. I am doing it.
West Ham are desperately searching for a striker following Fullkrug’s injury last night. Evan Ferguson is on loan with an option, but it is unclear whether Brighton will let him go. Alternatives are being considered, but the view within the club is that there is little chance of loaning Marcus Rashford despite being linked this week. #whufc
