Was Heidi Klum returning to Project Runway on your 2025 bingo card? If so, you’re in luck. People learned today that the German supermodel will be making her big comeback on the fashion franchise.
The Ella Enchanted actress originally hosted the show from 2004 to 2017; she last graced the reality series in November 2017 for the season 16 finale. After eight years of “auf wiedersehen” (her signature farewell to contestants who were eliminated each week), she will grace the screen once again in season 21, a 10-episode collection that will air weekly. The judges and premiere date have yet to be announced.
“After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to Project Runway, a show that I was honored to host and help create,” Klum said in a statement at the time. “I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers’ careers.”
In addition to bringing her electric personality to each episode, Klum also displayed her eccentric style, from dazzling minidresses to bold pantsuits and glamorous gowns.
Klum was nominated for an Emmy nine times during her tenure, and took home the award in 2013, along with her co-host and good friend Tim Gunn. The competition program itself has earned a whopping 49 nods over the course of its 20-season run.
Over the years, the show has featured dozens of designers, including Christian Siriano and Gunnar Deatherage, and even spawned spin-off shows, including All Stars (featuring designers from previous seasons) and Junior (featuring participants of all ages and backgrounds).
After Klum left, model Karlie Kloss took over as host for seasons 17 and 18, with Siriano as mentor. Siriano served as host and mentor during seasons 19 and 20. In 2013, Klum also joined America’s Got Talent and continues to serve as a judge on the reality competition show.
