Under-fire Manchester United are searching for respite when they visit Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Playing in the lesser-seen 19:00 GMT kick-off slot, the Red Devils are looking for redemption following last weekend’s miserable home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion. A dismal defensive display gifted the Seagulls victory and saw pressure increase on Ruben Amorim as United slumped to 13th.
Thursday night proved another slog for the 13-time Premier League champions as they needed a 92nd-minute winner from skipper Bruno Fernandes to beat Rangers 2-1 in the Europa League, and they may be relieved to be playing away from the justifiably critical Old Trafford faithful this weekend.
Fulham will prove no pushovers and currently sit seven points above United in the Premier League table having suffered just one defeat in their previous ten matches in the competition. Having said that, they have only won just three of those battles, including their recent trip to struggling Leicester City.
Here is 90min’s guide to the game.

Fulham have just the two absentees for Man Utd’s visit, with loanee Reiss Nelson missing in the forward line and Kenny Tete also unavailable at right-back. Otherwise, Marco Silva has an entirely fit squad for Sunday.
Andreas Pereira will face his former employers for the fifth time having only beaten them on one occasion previously. Ex-Liverpool winger Harry Wilson will be looking to punish his former foes and is in promising form with two goals and an assist in his last five outings.
Fulham predicted lineup vs Man Utd (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Berge; Wilson, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez.
Man Utd are waiting for fitness updates on a trio of defenders. Noussair Mazraoui missed Thursday’s win with a minor knock and will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s clash, while Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro are both doubts after suffering with pain midweek according to Amorim.
Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans are also absent in defence but Victor Lindelof has now returned to training. Mason Mount is unavailable on Sunday as he continues his recovery from a muscle injury.
Man Utd predicted lineup vs Fulham (3-4-2-1): Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, Martinez; Amad, Ugarte, Mainoo, Dalot; Garnacho, Fernandes; Zirkzee.
Fulham have only won once against Man Utd in their last 20 meetings – that coming at Old Trafford last season – and haven’t beaten them at Craven Cottage since December 2009. They have an excellent opportunity to change that on Sunday against an out-of-sorts and underperforming side.
They are likely to cause an injury-hit and generally disorganised United defence issues and they have scored two or more in their last six matches in all competitions.
United’s unpredictability makes it difficult to know what we will witness from Amorim’s side but they have been scoring goals in recent matches despite their poor form. Amad Diallo and Fernandes could well be their saviours again this weekend.
