Brentford manager Thomas Frank has revealed that the club would need to pay a huge transfer fee to lure Brian Mbeumo away from the club during the January transfer window.
The Cameroon star has raised some eyebrows in recent seasons, but continues to shine as one of the best African players in the Premier League.
However, Mbuemo is currently attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal after scoring 13 goals in 22 Premier League games.
But Frank says potential suitors will need to put some serious numbers in their checkbooks to get Brentford’s talisman from the G-Tech Community Stadium.
“No,” Frank said, according to Liverpool.com, when asked if it would be difficult to keep Mbeumo.
“The fees[to induce a contract]are so high that I can’t even imagine how much they cost.
“I’m not even focused on keeping the best players. I’m just hoping they stay,” he said. “And would you like to add? We are always in the market. There is no urgency to bring in new players, but of course we understand if suddenly we need them.”
