Frank Lampard reacts after Norwich score two stoppage time goals to beat Coventry 2-1 in a dramatic finish on Saturday afternoon.
The Sky Blues were winning at the 90 minute mark but two goals in added time from Amankwah Forson have completely turned the game on its head.
Delirium for the Canaries with his first two goals while it’s absolute heartbreak for the Sky Blues, who thought Milan van Ewijk’s first-half goal did enough.
It stops Frank Lampard’s men from extending their unbeaten run to four games, Coventry sitting 15th in the Championship table with 39 points from 26 games played while Norwich are 11th with 36 points from 26 games played.

Frank Lampard said, per the club website: “It was a tough match, and they created chances, but I thought we defended brilliantly and the work ethic off the ball and the desire to hold onto the lead that we’ve got.
“We’ve got players coming back into the team that haven’t played for a bit, and they brought us a real strength and performed really well.
“It’s unfortunate and that happens in football, and you’ll always look at what we could have done to stop it. The first one, nothing and then the second goal, yes but the players gave everything and we’re rightly disappointed with the result, but I take a lot out of the character of the performance and sometimes you’ve got to take these ones on the chin.”
Conceding goals in injury time…
“That’s football and in the moment maybe we could have done better, but we did a lot of good things in the game.
“We’ve had a lot of possession in the games I’ve had so far and today was less so, but we know they’re a possession team, so we set-up and the players did everything right until the last few minutes.”
Changing to three at the back…
“At the minute with the injuries that we’ve got it’s hard. We haven’t got many wingers in the team and Tatsu got an injury the other day and he’s on the bench and we had the young boys there as well, but in a game like this it felt right for the balance of the team and it’s something the players are used to playing so we think it gave us pretty good balance and defence solidity and we nearly got the result that we wanted.”
Milan van Ewijk’s goal in the first half…
“Great and quick break. It was good play, and it was nice to see Milan in the box, because as a wing-back he needs to be.
“He gave us something to work off and then up until half-time I don’t think we were seriously bothered by them, because we were getting a lot of things right.
“Second half there was more pressure from them, but we also had a decent chance ourselves in the second half.
“Sometimes it is what it is, and football can go against you in the last minutes, and you have to take it as what it is.”
A chance for Thomas-Asante in the second half…
“I’m never one to criticize, everyone wants to score and sometimes it goes the right side of the post, sometimes it goes the wrong side and if we get that right we probably win the game, but it wasn’t to be.”
Brandon Thomas-Asante, Jamie Allen and Liam Kitching come into the side…
“I thought they did really well. I thought Kitch came in and did really well with his defensive duties and his strength that he brings to the team.
“Jamie was really, really good. It’s not easy to stay match fit when you’re not playing, but those boys train well and train hard and they want to play, and they came into a tough match, and they did really well.
“Brandon as well up front, he was very good and all of his diligence off the ball and his work ethic for the team, as well as his hold up play and if he would have scored his chance, he would have fully deserved that.”

Twitter users gave their thoughts as Frank Lampard reacts after watching Norwich score two stoppage time goals to beat his Coventry side 2-1…
@TomShanley1992: Can’t knock the performance, we have switched off in the last 20 minutes and invited them on! That’s what happens! But ultimately we aren’t good enough as a whole, these are midtable and we are no where near the level! Cash in and focus on staying up because that’s the truth
@Wedgbury: Sickner, thought we managed the game well until we conceded a cracking goal for the equaliser. Then we just crumbled, BTA has cost us 3 points here.
@NickJH83: Very disappointing but no one can deny that Norwich deserve it. We could have lost this game much earlier.
@SephtonMark: Some of our players were class! Dovin being one. Eccles was 💩 again when he came on. BTA is the biggest spunk of 2 million quid, Simms offers absolutely nothing! Bidwell should have cleared his lines for the first goal and second goal was a foul on Lati. Heartbreaking #PUSB
@Bonio_16: Doug needs to come out and admit the deck of players are utter rubbish! Austin out for identifying these players and Dr Roberts in performance for the lack of it! I’m sure there’s a handful of coaches that need to leave too!
@Benr83: That ref is a disgrace, didn’t give us anything all game and then allowed Hernandez to push Lats over.
@ThomasFiedler6: Frank will be fuming with that, absolutely nothing about these players, they show absolutely zero fight
@Hugh_Bates: If King doesn’t give Lamps a decent transfer kitty over this & the summer window, I can’t see him hanging around for too long. There’s no way he fully knew what he was signing up for. #PUSB
@TomUpto94934917: Long journey back home from Norwich now, and all I can think is I’m just so gutted about that game, was buzzing thinking we would win, I’d even have taken the point as well, you could see Norwich winning that game after they scored the first goal, was written in the stars #PUSB
@lee_marlowe: The lack of battle and desire to win a tackle or header bothers me. Simple tasks like holding a ball up when we are 1-0 up with 5 mins to go and we can’t do it. If that was me on a Saturday/Sunday I would have been dragged. We need an old head and leader in asap. #PUSB
@ErnSkyBlue: Has the appointment of Frank Lampard improved things? 🤯#pusb
@Bradders_87: The only thing Frank got right today was starting Jamie Allen. Let’s hear all the anti Allen mob talking shit about him now. Best player on the pitch by a mile. Let’s also hear from the Bassette Ole Ole cunts and the give BTA a chance cunts talking shit. I’m waiting. #PUSB
@Cranbiet: Got exactly what we deserved today. We were terrible against a bang average Norwich side. Apart from the goal we didn’t string 4 passes together. Can’t believe some on here claiming positives. We are getting worse. #CCFC #PUSB
@JamieDaventry: It’s not losing that’s the issue. It’s the manner of it. It shows a fundamental lack of physical and mental toughness. A fragile and weak squad. If we get sucked downwards we absolutely don’t have the balls or know how for a fight. Dangerous times #pusb
@PUSBbook: Massive window for Lampard. Hoping he is given some funds. We’re stacked at CB but none seem to be performing and we’re light in CM. If we can address both and get Haji and EMC back then we could at least push towards mid table – still a long way off the preseason hopes #pusb
