Electronic vehicle manufacturer Atul Greentech on Wednesday announced that it has signed an agreement with Exide Energy Solutions (EESL) for the supply of lithium-ion batteries. As per the agreement, Atul Greentech Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Atul Auto, will procure lithium-ion battery packs from EESL’s manufacturing facility in Puranti, Gujarat and will also supply the cells once EESL starts production at its manufacturing facility in Bangalore, Karnataka. We will procure it from the latter. AGPL said in a statement.

Three-wheeler manufacturer Atul Auto has a strong presence in the domestic and international markets with an extensive dealer network. Meanwhile, AGPL specializes in the development and manufacturing of EVs for last-mile mobility solutions.
EESL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kolkata-based lead-acid battery manufacturer Exide Industries Limited, was established in 2022 to manufacture lithium-ion batteries, modules and packs.
Mandar V. Deo, joint managing director of EESL, said: “The proposed agreement will help both companies advance the electric vehicle industry by ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of lithium-ion battery packs and technology. It reinforces the dedication of our people.”
Exide is also a long-standing supplier of batteries for Atul Auto’s conventional vehicles, he added. Nominations for the ET MSME Awards are currently being accepted.
