There are still a few weeks left until the triumphant return of 9-1-1 Season 8, but not much is known about what will happen when the show returns.
Since the end of 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 8, we’ve been left with a fascinating trailer showing Athena chasing a possible serial killer and Maddie seemingly in their crosshairs.
This two-parter will be a tense 9-1-1 match that is sure to get people talking. But other than that key element, it’s unclear what else to expect from the rest of the action-packed season.

One thing that may be on the horizon is Eddie Diaz returning to Texas.
When Buck unexpectedly shows up at Eddie’s house and catches him looking at the house online, a shocking revelation is made.
This made the man a little dismayed, and he confided in his best friend that he wanted to be closer to his son, Christopher, who had been away from Los Angeles for a while.
Considering this is 9-1-1, there’s a good chance in the world that Eddie won’t make that move.
Perhaps this could be a bit of a red herring for Eddie and Buck to spark something else.

When Buck realizes that Eddie Diaz may no longer live in the same city as him, there is a clear setup for Buck to struggle with the aftermath of Eddie’s decision.
But what happens if Eddie actually goes to Texas? How will that look to him? What happens in case of 118?
So what happens on 9-1-1?
We’ve seen 118 take members down multiple times. Chimney spent much of Season 5 of 9-1-1 searching for Maddie, while Eddie spent much of the latter part of the season working on dispatch.
So Eddie not being on 118 day in and day out isn’t something audiences haven’t seen before. However, it will be an adjustment because Eddie lives in another state and does not have direct contact with anyone in the core group of found families.

Eddie’s storyline from 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 10 revolves around him and his son having difficult conversations and working on his fatherhood, while also understanding himself and why he made the decisions he made. He seemed ready about understanding what was going on in the son-son relationship.
That’s what we should have seen at the beginning of this season, but they dropped the ball a bit outside of 9-1-1 Season 8, Episode 6, where Eddie finally opened up about his fears and current state of mind. Eddie’s story.
Throughout the season, Christopher has been barely aware of his father’s presence on a video call in a way only a child can be on 9-1-1 in Season 8 Episode 1, to much more so on another video call in the midseason finale. We were able to build a good relationship.
We missed all that development, but there’s a chance to rectify that if the series moves forward with its plan to send Eddie to Texas.
Not only would this allow Eddie to directly address his relationship with Christopher and show them discussing all the events that led to their current situation, but it would also help Eddie as he continues his journey of self-discovery. It will be.
After 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 6 with Ryan Guzman about Christopher coming home and what it will take to get to a place where Eddie is ready to take him home. When I spoke to him, he replied: Within yourself.
(fox)
“When he goes to Christopher, he has to keep in mind what happened, but he also has cards that say, ‘It’s me who’s sad,’ or ‘I’m so sorry this happened.’ Don’t cut it.’ That’s ownership. And I think that’s the next step in maturity for Eddie.
“It’s about just taking responsibility for what happened without blaming yourself. And I showed my son, “This is what happens in life.” It will fall. And even when you’re down, sometimes you have to pick yourself up or rely on your community. ”And he is your community.
“So I think it’s a great opportunity to reconnect with my son and show him who he is as a human being.”
Eddie going to Texas would show his son that he is making an effort and taking responsibility for his actions, while also being there for him and working on their relationship.
(Disney/Ray Mikushaw)
Eddie’s decision to allow Christopher to go with his grandparents has been hotly debated, but for now it has become a reality. He’s been there for months and Eddie has done what he thinks is best for his son, and it’s been going on long enough.
It may seem like a rash decision to get up and move, but he’s doing it because it’s his baby. It’s the most important person in his life, and it’s time to have an unpleasant conversation face-to-face and rebuild that relationship.
That’s difficult to do over a video call.
For Eddie, returning to his hometown will not only bring him closer to his son, but also give him a chance to resolve issues with his parents and childhood.
When you become an adult, the things that happened to you when you were young don’t magically disappear, even if you have a bigger perspective as an adult.
Eddie has many feelings about his upbringing, and moving to Los Angeles with Christopher was a new start for both of them. They took advantage of it and excelled together.
(Disney/Mike Tyne)
They created their own small village without the help of their parents. Eddie didn’t “take Christopher.” He picked Christopher up.
Eddie Diaz is a good father, but he admits he made mistakes.
Will his parents be willing to admit the mistakes and assumptions they have made over the years?
If Eddie vents his frustrations about his upbringing and what he’s been through, will they be willing to meet halfway? If that’s what he wants at this point in his life, exploring that emotion could be a pivotal moment in Eddie’s character arc.
Eddie and his father, Ramon, are starting to bridge some of the distance between each other, but we don’t see much between Eddie and his mother. So it will be interesting to see him and his parents together again and it will be interesting to see what that relationship looks like now. Again, that’s if Eddie wants to do it.
Being at home also allows me to concentrate on things.
(Disney/Ray Mikushaw)
You never know where you’re going until you know where you’ve been or something like that.
Eddie is still figuring out who he is and what he wants, and perhaps returning to his old place will help him discover parts of himself as he continues his journey of introspection and truly looks at himself in the mirror. , or it may help you rediscover it.
Shaving my mustache and taking off my mask was the first step to truly accepting myself, finding pockets of joy, and feeling worthy of it.
Texas could be a key moment for Eddie to make peace with his past as he continues to move toward the future, which brings me to Los Angeles. Whether Eddie moves or not, there is no doubt in my mind that he will eventually return to Los Angeles.
(Disney/Christopher Willard)
There was a special reason why Eddie was set up to be conflicted when Buck inadvertently found out that he was considering moving.
Eddie moving to Texas would be about Eddie first and foremost, but of course Buck would have some feelings about it. Their journeys are linked in different ways, and Eddie’s absence in Buck’s life will naturally cause a reaction.
When the Bucks first learned about Eddie’s possible transfer, they came forward to help him, but he expressed misgivings. While he may be publicly supportive of Eddie’s decision, there will definitely be some internal debate about what it means for them.
Leaving Los Angeles means leaving 118 and Buck. Over the years, the two have developed a relationship and a family dynamic that has become very important to them.
We’ve seen Eddie out of the 118 team, and they could find a way to fill his spot (hello, Ravi!), but there’s a chance he’ll give up his spot will be a change for a team that just reunited in its return. Bobby finishes his mission with the Hotshots.
Just as Hen was having time to adjust to Chimney’s absence while he was away at work or out of town, the same goes for Buck.
(Disney/Christopher Willard)
He will be suffering from the loss of his business partner and one of his closest friends. We all know Buck’s history and fear of abandonment, which will likely trigger many deep-seated feelings.
What will happen to the Buckley-Diaz family?
There’s potential for some truly fascinating storytelling as the two navigate the new dimension of their relationship: distance.
Outside of running backs, Eddie’s absence in Los Angeles will have a ripple effect and make it an interesting spot to be at 9-1-1 at this stage of the game.
Recruiting the familiar 9-1-1 in setting up this new world in El Paso for Eddie would bring something different to the long-running series, even if only for a short time.
The story of Eddie confronting his past has been years in the making, and considering how much his story was ignored at the start of 9-1-1 Season 8, Eddie, and frankly… Thanks to Eddie, and frankly the audience, for giving this story time. And give it the consideration it deserves.
(Disney/Chris Willard)
No one said Eddie had to be there for the rest of the season. In fact, I might revolt if that happened, but if they’re going to commit to it, they need to commit too.
Eddie Diaz is a sometimes underutilized character, but he deserves this exploration, and now is the time. Let him be at the forefront of your own story.
I’m sure you all have a lot of thoughts on this subject, but please let me know what you think about the possibility of Eddie returning to Texas.
Will the show go there?
