New Orleans Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray is set to undergo X-rays on his right hand. Murray missed the Pelicans game at the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday due to a sprained right index finger. New Orleans coach Willie Green said pregame that his starting point guard will now get X-rays on his right hand.
Murray previously missed 17 games this season due to a broken left hand. The veteran point guard suffered that injury in the Pelicans first game of the season. Murray had played in every game since he returned from that injury.
As this is his 18th missed game of the season, Murray is no longer eligible for postseason awards. In addition, the Pelicans guard will miss out on several bonuses that include a clause for games played plus various performance markers.
