Cuyana’s Ola Bag Is a Small, Reese Witherspoon-Worn Purse

Giant, super slouchy totes might be this year’s ‘It’ accessory, but a small handbag will always be an essential. When I’m dressing up, nine out of ten times, I’m reaching for the streamlined, sleek purse. The elegant style is the icing on top of an already-chic look. And while I tend to gravitate towards something simple and black, Reese Witherspoon just introduced me to a not-so-basic one I need ASAP.

This week, Witherspoon was spotted in New York City, wearing what is now my dream winter outfit. The base was a cherry red pant set that she layered underneath the most gorgeous black coat. But rather than do the obvious thing by reaching for black accessories, she added even more color, wearing a pair of burgundy pumps and matching handbag, the latter of which I immediately fell in love with.

The purse, Cuyana’s Ola Bag, was small, sleek, and actually exciting. It paired a wavy silhouette with rich burgundy leather and a luxurious gold handle; it was like wearable art.

In case you’re not familiar with Cuyana, it’s the low-key brand editors and celebrities like Eva Mendes, Emily Blunt, and Meghan Markle all wear, and for good reason. The brand offers modern takes on classic styles that also happen to be really well-made. Witherspoon’s sculptural Ola Bag is the perfect example. It has all of the things you want in a small luxury bag—sturdy leather, functional pockets, and an optional crossbody strap—but with an interesting shape that can elevate any outfit. In short, it’s what you reach for when you need a small bag’s elegance, but not its classic (*cough, cough* boring) look.

Witherspoon reached for the Ola Bag to spice up her night-out look, but it’s not the brand’s only exciting mini bag, nor the only one celebrities and shoppers are obsessed with.
