Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo is set to sign a new contract with Al Nasr worth €3.8 million a week.
Ronaldo re-joined United in style in 2021, and although his first season was a success with 24 goals, his second year was a failure.
The Portuguese never really saw eye to eye with Erik ten Hag, and in November 2022 he gave the now infamous interview with Piers Morgan.
He criticized the club, the owners and, incredibly, his own manager, despite still being a paid member of the team.
As a result, both United and Ronaldo agreed that it was best to part ways, with the Portuguese legend signing a lucrative contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nasr.
According to a report in Saudi media Al Khabar (via AS), “The Portuguese player, who will turn 40 in February, will extend his contract with the Saudi club by one season.”
“Cristiano Ronaldo has accepted Al Nasr’s offer and is reportedly on the verge of signing a multi-million euro contract extension with the Saudi club.”
The contract is estimated to be worth 200 million euros and runs until June 2026.
“Cristiano was already Saudi Arabia’s highest-paid footballer, with an annual salary of 200 million euros and an additional 60 million euros in image rights. With this renewal, Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest-paid footballer in the world. He will continue to be a great soccer player.”
According to reports, he will earn an eye-watering 3.8 million euros a week, or more than 500,000 euros per day.
The 39-year-old has been a great goalscorer since joining Al Nasr, scoring 75 goals in 84 games.
He has 917 career goals, and with another season and a half, he might be able to get closer to his goal of 1,000 strikes.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that his contract ends in time for the 2026 World Cup, which is certain to be his last international tournament.
