Coronation Street star Sydney Martin has vowed fans with her ‘beautiful’ voice after sharing a clip of her singing.
The actress, who plays Betsy Swain on the ITV soap, posted a clip of her performing Another Love by Tom Odell accompanied by a friend on guitar to Instagram over the weekend.
‘Enjoy us messing about- just a bit of fun,’ she wrote.
In the comments, Sydney was flooded with compliments about her voice.
Among them was her on-screen mum Vicky Myers, who plays DS Lisa Swain.
She simply wrote: ‘Beautiful xxx.’
One fan commented: ‘Ahhh Sydney you have a voice of an angel, you really do sound so beautiful my girly.’
Another said: ‘You have an amazing singing voice. This is so beautiful!’
A third agreed: ‘You’ve got such a lovely singing voice, wow.’
Another opined: ‘Really touched me .. so lovely and angelic.’
Another Corrie fan said: ‘What a fitting song for Betsy’s feelings after week she’s had. You have been amazing!!’
Sydney’s Corrie counterpart Betsy is currently in the middle of a big storyline, with the character grieving the sudden loss of boyfriend Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan).
Mason was stabbed to death by brothers Logan and Matty (Harry Lowbridge and Seamus McGoff) earlier this week in hard-hitting scenes that were praised by fans.
Sydney later posted her own thoughts on Instagram.
‘Devastated. Goodbye Mason Radcliffe💔’ she wrote alongside a photo of her with co-stars Luca Toolan and Liam McCheyne, who plays Dylan Wilson.
‘What an incredible episode that I’m truly so proud to be a part of. If it saves even a single life, we’ve done our job.’
She added: ‘And to my Corrie family I’m so incredibly grateful every time to come in to work with such talented individuals. Luca you’re so incredibly talented, what a privilege it has been to work alongside you, you already know how much I adore you so I won’t waffle on. I love every single one of you, thank you.’
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first on ITVX.
