Caribbean countries face increasing security challenges, ranging from geopolitical tensions to armed violence and gang proliferation, exacerbated by drug trafficking and competition over drug routes. The region has also been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, mass migration and money laundering. Caribbean countries need integrated solutions to address these problems, including strengthening institutions, fighting crime and corruption, and addressing root causes such as inequality and drug demand. . International cooperation, particularly with the United States, will play a key role in addressing these challenges and restoring stability in the Caribbean region.
