Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes praised teammate Amad Diallo on social media after his performance in the 3-1 Premier League win over Southampton on Thursday (January 16).
The 30-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Ruben Amorim’s side achieved an impressive comeback win against bottom-of-the-table Southampton.
Diallo, 22, scored three goals in just 12 minutes, completing his first hat-trick for the club and lifting his team to 12th place in the Premier League.
Ivan Juric looked set for his first win since taking over in December, but Diallo scored his first goal in the 82nd minute after a pinball inside Southampton’s box.
And eight minutes later the Ivorian gave the home side the lead, latching on to Christian Eriksen’s lofted pass and volleying past Aaron Ramsdale.
He took advantage of Southampton’s shocking attack from the back to score the third goal in stoppage time.
