After receiving a red card early in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with 1.FC Union Berlin, VfL Bochum attacker Koji Miyoshi will be disqualified from the next two matches at the Bundesliga bottom club. The Japanese national team’s suspension, confirmed by the German Football Association on Monday, means he will be excluded from the final league match of the year (Heidenheim) and the first match of 2025 (Mainz 05).
This summer’s high-profile signing has appeared in 11 games for Levier Club so far this year, scoring one goal in the league. Miyoshi started his second consecutive league match this season on Saturday under current VfL trainer Dieter Hecking. Miyoshi scored perhaps the most important goal of the season for Bochum in matchday 10. With a late equalizing goal, Bochum dominated defending champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
