The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, January 12, announced its third list of candidates for the 2025 Delhi elections. In the third list of candidates for the 2025 Delhi elections, the BJP has announced only one candidate, Mohan Singh Bisht, for the Mustafabad seat. Mohan Singh Bisht had earlier expressed disappointment over the Bharatiya Janata Party’s refusal to field ticket from his stronghold Karawar Nagar and former AAP leader Kapil Mishra.
A senior party official claimed that he felt calmer after meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party chief JP Nadda. Earlier in the day, Mohan Singh Bisht said the BJP’s decision to replace him with Kapil Mishra was “wrong”, saying the results of the 2025 Delhi elections will be declared on February 8. He said it would become clear at some point.
“You have challenged the ‘samaj’ (his Uttarakhandi community) and not Mohan Singh Bisht. With this decision, the BJP has taken on Karawar Nagar, Burari, Mustafabad and Gokalpuri. Including this, we will lose at least 8-10 seats,” warned Mohan Singh Bisht. He had also indicated that he would apply for nomination from Karawal Nagar.
Mohan Singh Bisht is the senior-most MLA of the outgoing Delhi Assembly. He has been elected five times from Karawal Nagar. In this Delhi election, Mohan Singh Bisht was a candidate from Mustafabad seat.
The BJP had earlier announced the second list of 29 candidates for the 2025 Delhi elections. In the second round of candidates list, the BJP is contesting with former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana’s son Harish Khurana from Moti Nagar. Priyanka Gautam, who recently joined the party from AAP, contested from Kondoli seat.
Former MP Parvesh Verma is contesting from the New Delhi seat against former state chief minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. Ramesh Biduri is contesting from Kalkaji city, where Chief Minister and AAP candidate Atishi is contesting in the Delhi elections.
The 2025 Delhi elections will be held in a single phase on February 5 and counting of votes will be held on February 8.
