ASDA shoppers are flocking to stores after a new Squashies flavour that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day was spotted.
Manufacturer Swizzles launched the fresh limited-edition line for Valentine’s Day, combining two of its most popular brands.
The new line consists of foam Squashies sweets which feature Love Hearts’ messages and emojis.
A keen shopper had bought and reviewed the product in a post on Facebook group Snack Reviews.
The post read: “Closer look at Squashies Love Hearts from ASDA.
“They’re pretty big with your favourite mixed fruit flavours, we loved them.”
One fan commented: “These are my favourite.
“[As] soon as my mum gets me some they are gone in seconds”.
Another added a drooling face emoji among the dozens of likes on the post.
Each sweet in the new range retains its traditional Love Hearts flavour, including Pineapple, Lime, Blackcurrant, Lemon, Cherry, and Orange.
In the four weeks to Valentine’s Day in 2024, nearly one million units of Love Hearts were sold, up 10 per cent on the year prior.
Clare Newton, trade marketing manager at Swizzels, said: “Squashies Love Hearts bring something new to retailers’ offering, appealing to shoppers looking for unique yet familiar treats for themselves or as a special gift to someone else.
“Our Valentine’s range is all about sharing the love, regardless of relationship status – whether it’s romantic love, familial love or friendship and we hope the new Squashies Love Hearts will help to do just that.”
The brand had also launched limited-edition Christmas and Halloween-themed Squashies over the past few months.
This comes as Dr Pepper released a limited-edition flavour for Valentine’s Day.
Its new Cherry Crush Dr Pepper flavour arrived on shelves earlier this week and shoppers are already raving about it.
Home Bargains has further delighted shoppers by offering them a true bargain.
Sharing a picture of the striped pink can with hearts, one shopper said on Facebook: “49p in Home Bargains – It’s really nice.
“Reminds me of something but I don’t know what”.
Others shared their opinions, trying to guess the flavour, saying: “Cherry cough sweets, I like it.”
“Cherry drops by any chance xx I’m dying to grab this,” another wrote.
A third added: “It reminded me of cherry sprite it’s very American flavoured cherry.
“Very nice though”.
