Nottingham Forest fans are calling for referee Anthony Taylor to be ‘sacked’ after his decision against Southampton.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side moved level on points with Arsenal with a 3-2 win at the City Ground thanks to first-half goals from Elliott Anderson, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Chris Wood.
Southampton mounted a late fightback after Jan Bednarek and Paul Onuachu found the back of the net in the second half, but it was too late for Saints.
Despite a wave of jubilation and relief at the final whistle, the home supporters quickly turned their attention to the match officials.
Many fans believe that they could have witnessed an easier victory had certain decisions gone in their favor.
Fans claimed on social media that Flynn Downs should have been sent off for an alleged elbow strike, but the midfielder also avoided a penalty for a lunging challenge.

Nikola Milenkovic also had a goal ruled out for controversial offside after Wood was adjudged to have interfered with play during a set-piece.

Despite the thrill of the five-goal match, much of the focus was on the referee and his performance, with supporters furious at the referee’s inconsistency.
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett also told Football Insider that Taylor was “too lenient” in not sacking Downs for “serious misconduct”.
Now, after the 3-2 win against Southampton, a group of Forest fans flooded social media to express their anger at him being labeled ‘corrupt’ and ‘a disgrace’. .
We ended up playing against 10 people and a perfectly normal goal was canceled out when we were incorrectly awarded a free kick against the opponent’s goal.
