As the executive producer of The Real Housewives series, Andy Cohen has great insight into the show.
At Bravo Fan Fest Miami, Cohen gave Deadline a deeper understanding of why The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City continues to do well in season five.
“I always lead with humor. All these women have known each other for a long time. Even Bronwyn (Newport), a new housewife, has known Lisa Barlow for 10 years. ” Cohen said. “I think that’s really important. It’s a connection that can’t be faked. There’s an organic backbone to the relationships between people that is essential to the success and longevity of these shows.”
Cohen also said, “Something is going to happen this week on ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.’ It’s probably the best thing I’ve ever seen on an episode of The Housewives in the history of the Mary Cosby and Wife franchise.” It’s probably one of the most raw (and) real moments of all time,” he teased. her son, Robert Jr.; This is incredibly emotional and I think it will affect a lot of people. ”
Since RHOSLC has no shortage of drama, we wondered if Jen Shah (currently in prison) or Monica Garcia (behind the Instagram troll account) could be considered to join the reality series in the future .
“So Jen is in prison. I don’t know when she’s going to come out, so I don’t think that’s conceivable,” Cohen explained. “I’m a huge fan of Monica, but I think that’s for the future. We’re in the middle of an incredibly successful season right now, but there’s been speculation that she’s been added to the cast. I don’t want to take away their great work.”
The Peacock spinoff, Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, was also a fan favorite. While fans are wondering if a new edition will ever be published, Cohen said, “I hope so.”
“We love the ultimate girls’ trip. We’ve been looking at ways to refresh if we take it home. It’s definitely a conversation,” he said.
Cohen said he would consider cast members from other Bravo shows when discussing how to revive the spinoff.
