“I don’t want to be some kind of consumer robot who’s always trying to buy things that end up wrapped in plastic and ending up in the ocean. In fact, Ali is very concerned about single-use plastics. I am especially attentive to babies. A year ago, I was adamantly against having children, and a big reason for that was climate change. This year is the hottest year we’ve ever had, and probably the one you and I will ever experience. It will be the coolest year ever. The eco-anxiety is real for people like me who lie awake thinking about it,” Richa said.
Fazal, an emerging photography enthusiast, has captured intimate moments between Richa and Zuneyra, including a scene next to a dolphin-shaped toddler bed. Recounting recent events, Fazal said that just before Zuneira was born, she started noticing new bird activity around her house. “The butterflies started to appear and the migratory birds arrived every morning like clockwork. It feels like there are vortices of energy in certain places. Maybe it’s because what we’ve been doing is in harmony with nature. “Maybe it’s a sign that we’re here,” he said.
