The 2025 MBE & QIF Summit event is returning to MxD (Manufacturing x Digital) headquarters in Chicago, IL, April 15 – 17, 2025.
The 2025 event will bring the growing pains of collaborating in a decentralized environment to light. Experts will share the progress they’ve made, lessons learned, and ongoing efforts to demonstration that MBE is possible. Experts from academia, government, and industry will be present to discuss topics related to design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and sustainment of products and processes when a Model-Based approach is used.
In 2025, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Smart Connected Systems Division and the Digital Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) have worked closely to integrate MBE & QIF content over the 3 day conference. This year the MTConnect Institute will discuss how the MTConnect standard fits into the lifecycle.
The DMSC is a non-profit organization focused on developing and supporting interoperability standards and quality data frameworks for digital metrology in manufacturing. The DMSC’s Quality Information Framework (QIF) standard is at the heart of its mission of interoperability and providing traceability of quality data.
The MTConnect Institute is a not-for-profit standards development organization for the MTConnect standard (ANSI/MTC1.4-2018). In practice, MTConnect is widely used for factory floor monitoring, OEE calculation, predictive analytics or maintenance, manufacturing cell integration, scheduling and routing, and ERP integration, but any application that benefits from a normalized, pre-defined vocabulary of terms will benefit from adhering to the MTConnect standard.
