The January transfer market is now officially open, with clubs across europe looking to get deals over the line to enhance their squads for the second half of the season. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets to sign or loan.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals in the market. A plethora of players will be unhappy with their lack of minutes, with their agents aiming to secure them a move to ensure first-team football for the second half of the season. Barcelona and Manchester United are locked in talks over a loan deal for Marcus Rashford, according to the Telegraph. Ruben Amorim has repeatedly criticised the England international and left him out of his United squad. Arsenal had a bid rejected for Ollie Watkins but they will reportedly return with an improved bid. The Gunners made an offer around €70 million for the Aston Villa striker, who scored as they beat Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday night. But Villa are very reluctant to sell Watkins with Jhon Duran on the verge of moving to Saudi Arabia.

German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to sign Tyler Dibling. The 18-year-old has been the shining light of Southampton’s dismal season with Tottenham also interested. Meanwhile, several Premier League clubs including Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in Matys Tel with the attacker wanting to leave Bayern Munich.
