Killington, Vermont — With Killington’s latest snowmaking efforts, a fan favorite expert trail could remain open deep into the spring.
This week, Killington started making snow on Devil’s Fiddle. The steep run is known for its varying fall lines, moguls, and cliffs. Located on Bear Mountain, Devil’s Fiddle tends to be open less often than its next-door neighbor, Outer Limits. However, 55 new hydrants were added in 2023, allowing Killington to make snow easier.
The Devil’s Fiddle trail was once home to a quad chairlift, which was partially removed after the 2007-08 season. However, the lift towers and top terminal remain on the double black diamond slope, providing skiers and riders the chance to pass by abandoned pieces of Killington’s history.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Killington has 153 of its 155 trails open, and 15 lifts are operating. The Vermont ski resort has received 151″ of snow so far this winter, including 5 inches of snow they received last night.
