Nightbitch Disney+, streaming now
If there’s one thing you had to say about Amy Adams, it’s, “That woman has range.” Be it an all-singing-all-dancing Disney princess, JD Vance’s mother, or Lois Lane, she brings it to every role. This time, she plays an artist who “pauses” her career to be a stay-at-home mum. While she’s coming to terms with being “mother”, she seeks a new chapter in her life. By way of a summary, her nightly routine takes quite the surreal turn when her more unnerving maternal instincts begin to manifest in canine form. Along with feasting on raw meat, she sprouts the sharp canine teeth required for that feat, along with an all-over body fuzz. Before you start thinking, “OK, so it’s like every werewolf movie ever made,” it’s more akin to that episode of Malcolm In The Middle where Reese finally finds his tribe leading a pack of dogs every night — but with way more jump-scare tactics and jarring lines about how she can crush walnuts with her lady parts.

Expect blood, explosions, the odd drill, and more blood. In other foreign language viewing, we have French offering Shafted, following a herd of middle-aged alpha males trying to better themselves.
