Iga Swiatek lost just three games to fend off Emma Navarro to reach the Australian Open semi-finals and continue her bid for her first Melbourne title.
Swiatek, a five-time major champion, cruised to a brutal 6-1, 6-2 victory over eighth-seeded Navarro.
Swiatek has lost just 14 games at Melbourne Park this year, seven of which came in the first round.
The Polish player came back from a set down to defeat Elina Svitolina and will face Madison Keys in the last four.
Keys will need to show his true potential to defeat Swiatek, who showed overwhelming strength against the highly rated Navarro.
Swiatek broke in the first service game of the match, ending the first set within 36 minutes.
However, controversy arose when the referee failed to spot the double bounce at a crucial moment at 2-2 in the second set.
The ball bounced twice and Swiatek, who had the advantage on serve, flicked it over the winner, but referee Eva Asdelaki-Moore missed it.
Despite Ms. Navarro’s protests, the video technology review (which would have shown a replay of the footage) was unavailable because she continued playing the point without stopping.
Swiatek then broke in the next match and ran away with a match that matched his best performance at Melbourne Park.
