Doha, January 21 (QNA) – “Manzar: Art and Architecture of Pakistan from the 1940s to Today” currently on display at the National Museums of Qatar (NMoQ) will open its historic exhibition on January 31, 2025. Finish.
To commemorate the closing of this landmark exhibition, Art Mill Museum will host a three-day program including talks, workshops, and concerts, as well as a Pakistan Food Festival in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan.
Wednesday’s grand finale will begin with a talk by Pakistani writer and artist Salima Hashmi, examining the artist practices that have characterized Pakistan’s dynamic art production over the past 50 years. Hashmi will focus on the work of three generations of artists across a variety of mediums, including oil on canvas, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, video, and performance.
The talk will be followed by a musical performance by the Aga Khan’s master musicians and aspiring artists from Qatar Museums’ Music Lab. Music Lab is a creative hub dedicated to improving Qatar’s musical environment and nurturing young musical talent through initiatives, programs, events and a dynamic creative space that contributes. On Thursday, the program continues with a roundtable discussion, “Voices in the Arts: Intercultural Dialogue on Arts and Education.” Three prominent and highly acclaimed artists and educators from Lahore and Karachi will visit Doha to meet Manzar and some of Qatar’s most talented and innovative artists, including Wafiqa Sultan and Hannan Bu Muza. Since its opening on November 1, Manzar has showcased the diverse contributions of artists and architects who have shaped the narrative, history, and contemporary perspectives of Pakistan’s cultural landscape and diaspora since the 1940s.
