Manchester United will have a global aids charity sponsor their shirts for their game against West Ham United later in the season.
The Red Devils reached an agreement in the summer to replace TeamViewer with Snapdragon on the front of their shirts this season.
Additionally, for the first time in the club’s history, the backs of shirt sponsors will be displayed at selected matches, increasing the exposure of various sponsors.
The company has also expressed an interest in being involved in a naming rights deal that would help fund the construction of the club’s new stadium.
In another innovation, The Athletic reported: “Manchester United will feature a global health charity as the front shirt sponsor for the Premier League game against West Ham United later this season.”
“(RED) will appear on the front of United’s home shirt for the penultimate game of the campaign on May 10, replacing current sponsor Snapdragon, a subsidiary of Qualcomm.”
The US-based charity works with big-name brands to generate funds for people affected by AIDs and other global health pandemics.
The charity’s logo will also appear on the women’s kit for the match against Arsenal, scheduled for May 11th.
The move was made possible by an existing agreement with Qualcomm that allows the company to designate a charity to replace the “Snapdragon” name on uniforms for one game per season.
Commenting on the selection of RED, club CEO Omar Berada said: “Through the power and innovation of our relationship with Qualcomm Technologies, we are proud to be able to use the front of the Manchester United shirt to tell the story of the important work undertaken by (RED).” To fight injustice. ”
RED Chair Jennifer Lotito commented on her excitement about the partnership and praised the initiative’s potential to raise awareness and engage people in the charity’s efforts to combat serious health issues.
“I would like to thank everyone at Qualcomm and Manchester United for making this possible, both off and on the pitch,” she said.
