The Grateful Dead will perform during Grammy Week with an all-star lineup featuring performances from Dead & Company (including Grateful Dead co-founders Bob Weir and Mickey Hart), John Mayer, Vampire Weekend, and more. At the tribute concert, he was selected as the 2025 Music Care Person of the Year. , Billy Strings, My Morning Jacket, The War on Drugs, and Bruce Hornsby.
The concert, to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Friday, January 31st, will include Mick Fleetwood and Stewart Copeland, Norah Jones, Maren Morris, Noah Kahan, Sierra Farrell, Lukas Nelson, Dwight Yoakam, Sammy Hagar, and The Wars and Treaties. Andy Cohen, known as a Grateful Dead superfan, will emcee the event.

The MusicCares Person of the Year Award recognizes a band’s contributions to music as well as their philanthropy and activism. This year’s event also doubles as a fundraiser for Los Angeles wildfire relief. (Editor’s note: Consequence has launched a special edition of Protect Live Music T-shirts called “All for LA.” 100% of proceeds will be donated to MusiCares’ Los Angeles fire relief efforts.)
Past MusicCares Person of the Year honorees include Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Lionel Richie and Jon Bon Jovi.
The Grateful Dead was also recently recognized as a member of the 2024 Kennedy Center Honors.
