Taylor Swift’s Infinity Ring Sparks Travis Kelce Engagement Rumors

Taylor Swift made her highly-anticipated appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs-Houston Texans playoff game on Saturday, January 18 in head-to-toe Chanel, from her fresh-off-the-runway gray checkered tweed jacket to her loud luxury jewelry pieces: A chain belt that cinched in her black wool jumpsuit and a pair of Chanel logo earrings encrusted in pearls and diamonds. However, it was the “Blank Space” singer’s comparatively more subtle jewelry choices just hours before that caught Swifties’ attention. On Friday night, Swift subtly debuted a new diamond infinity ring while out to dinner with her parents in New York City, sparking fan speculation that a Travis Kelce engagement could be imminent.

A Swiftie shared her theory on X (formerly Twitter) with a photo of Swift–who could be seen flashing a stack of rings on her right hand–as she stepped out in a Reputation-coded black Area chain peacoat and matching skirt for a Nobu dinner with her parents Andrea and Scott, as well as her stylist friend Ashley Avignone, on January 17. The fan shared a close-up photo of a diamond infinity ring with gold hardware that she thought looked similar to one of Swift’s pieces, as well as a Google search result for the meaning of an infinity ring: “Traditionally, these bands are thought of as a pre-engagement ring, as they signify devotion or ‘promise’ for a future engagement.” 

“Interesting,” she commented with a big eyes emoji. Fellow Swifties flooded the comments section, with some theorizing that Swift and Kelce could be planning to take the next step in their relationship while others argued that the infinity sign could mean something else as Swift has interwoven the symbol into everything from her Eras Tour stage for her “Down Bad” performance to her 2019 “The Man” music video. “The infinity symbol has been an easter egg since 2017,” one person wrote. 

One Swiftie also pointed out that she previously wore an infinity bracelet during her Folklore era that was rumored to be a gift from ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. “Her ex allegedly gifted her an infinity bracelet that she wore all the time and they weren’t engaged so … it’s just jewelry until she says otherwise!” they wrote.

Swift and Kelce have yet to comment on the engagement speculation, and it’s unknown whether she wore the new piece to Saturday’s Chiefs-Texans game as she hid her hands with a pair of black leather gloves. However, the couple’s inner circle reportedly are  rooting for Swelce to walk down the aisle in the future. “They’re so in love,” a source told Us Weekly back in September, revealing that “friends hope an engagement is a sure thing in the future.”

Meanwhile, other insiders told the publication that Swift is ready for “the next era of her life” now that the Eras Tour has wrapped.  “Taylor and Travis are very committed and serious about their future,” they said, adding that the couple have had “serious conversations” about their timeline for an engagement and kids.  “Taylor has expressed how excited she is to settle down after her tour concludes,” the source said. “They’re on the same page.”
