Prolific producer James Ford has revealed that he has been diagnosed with acute leukemia and has started “aggressive chemotherapy for treatment” this week.
Sharing news of the diagnosis on Instagram, the 2023 Producer of the Year said he was feeling “pretty rough leading up to Christmas” but only considered it a symptom of “burnout.” I wrote that there is no. However, as his condition worsened, he visited a doctor and received a diagnosis.

Ford first made a name for himself as a member of Simian and its spin-off Simian Mobile Disco, and has performed on songs such as Florence and the Machine’s “Lungs,” Arctic Monkeys’ “AM,” and HAIM’s “Days Are.” His producer credits include Depeche Mode’s Memento Mori, Depeche Mode’s Memento Mori, and Blur’s The Ballad. He is currently hospitalized at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London and says: “I’m really looking forward to getting back into the studio on my own time and working on the music that’s important to me again.”
