Liverpool are reportedly planning to sign Real Madrid star Bramin Dias, according to Spanish newspaper Fichajes.
The 25-year-old joined Los Blancos in 2019 after rising through the ranks in Manchester City’s youth organization. Upon his move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, the Moroccan struggled to find regular appearances, so he was loaned to AC Milan to play regularly. and develop his career.
Díaz spent three seasons with the Rossoneri, winning the league title before returning to Los Merengues before last season.
He has recently been playing as a rotation player for Real Madrid. The African player helped Carlo Ancelotti’s side win the La Liga and Champions League titles last season.
However, following the arrival of Kylian Mbappé, Dias has struggled to feature regularly this season, making just eight starts in Spain’s top flight and Europe’s elite club competitions.
Dias to Liverpool
Fijajes now claims that Liverpool are interested in Diaz as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose current contract expires at the end of this season.
The Merseyside club have been monitoring Dias’ performances in recent months ahead of a potential raid. The player could be tempted to move to Anfield if given the opportunity to play regularly.
However, acquiring him will not be easy as Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are also interested in securing him.
Dias is valued at around £30m by Transfermarkt and has a contract until 2027. Real Madrid may therefore allow him to leave the club this year in order to get maximum benefit from his departure.
The Real Madrid star is a versatile player who can play on either flank and is also comfortable in an attacking midfield position.
Salah has been in great form this season and is considered one of the best players in the world. So if Liverpool were to part ways with him, it would be difficult to replace him with a player of his caliber.
However, it will be interesting to see whether the Merseyside club ultimately makes a concrete approach to signing Dias to strengthen their forward line in January or at the end of this season.
