In a meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali in Addis Ababa on Friday, Prime Minister Ghalibaf stressed the need to expand bilateral ties in economic, cultural and political ties.
He said that Iran and Ethiopia are two important countries in Asia and Africa that unfortunately face difficulties due to the colonial policies of some great powers, such as the betrayal policies of the colonial powers of Britain and the United States. “We should exploit the potential of the BRICS group to develop bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation,” he continued.
He pointed out that the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been to support independent countries and maintain their territorial integrity.
Manoucher Motaki, chairman of the Iran-Ethiopia Parliamentary Friendship League, and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahid Jalali accompanied Ghalibaf on his visit to Ethiopia.
