Belgium sacked manager Domenico Tedesco after less than two years in charge, with Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry reportedly one of the early candidates for manager.
Tedesco, former manager of RB Leipzig, was sacked after disappointing results, including losing in the round of 16 at last year’s European Championship and poor results in the Nations League.
The Italian has won just two of his past 10 games and has also fallen out with Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who last summer said he would never play under Tedesco again.

Henry previously worked as Belgium’s assistant coach under Roberto Martinez, and in his most recent coaching role, he led the French men’s Olympic team to a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics.
CEO Peter Willems said in a statement: “The search for a successor is currently underway.
“Unfortunately, the Red Devils did not perform as expected at Euro 2024 as well as the following Nations League campaign.
“Domenico has made a great start as national team coach and has shown that even after the previous generation has left, great things are still possible. He has integrated many young players into the team and his successor could develop this further.”
Tedesco predicted big things for the team he leaves behind, adding:
“This team is still in its early stages of development and will be a sensation in the coming years. I wish the players, the wonderful staff of the federation and the fans all the best.”
