Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Alaghushi and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a telephone conversation to discuss the Gaza ceasefire agreement and other issues of common interest.
Expressing his satisfaction with the agreement reached as a result of the resistance of the Gaza population to the genocide committed by the Israeli regime, Mr. Aragushi expressed his appreciation of Qatar’s efforts in this regard and stressed the need for the international community to improve the living conditions of the Palestinian people. The Gaza Strip ceasefire agreement was brokered by Qatar, the United States and Egypt and is scheduled to come into force on Sunday, January 19th. The first phase of the agreement is scheduled to last for 42 years.
