In connection with the new environmental regulations for Svalbard coming into force on 1 January this year, the Norwegian Environment Agency has established map services that locate regulations for landing in protected areas for tourism activities, motor traffic rules for visitors and permanent residents, and rules on reduced speed for motor traffic at sea at selected bird cliffs.
The respective datasets are published in the Norwegian Environment Agency’s map catalogue and on GEONORGE:
The map services are openly available to the public.
They are suitable for management purposes and can be retrieved in visibility solutions such as the Svalbard Map.
The datasets are also suitable for use in internal systems used by tour operators.
