The Giro Taggert helmet embodies refinement—sleek, minimalist design with a clean aesthetic that reflects the effortless confidence of a skier or rider gliding down the mountain or carving through the park.
Ash Lewin, senior industrial designer at Giro, explains that when tasked with creating a new helmet, the goal was to fuse the laid-back vibe of a classic skate-style helmet with the performance and safety of a high-end freeride design. This vision became the foundation for the Taggert.
As with all Giro helmets, safety is the top priority. The Taggert is built with Giro’s industry-leading standards and comes Mips-equipped to protect your brain on every outing. Even with its advanced safety features, the Taggert remains impressively low profile—no unnecessary bulk.
“It’s all about clean lines and a minimalist shell,” Lewin explains.
This is the refined version of a bucket helmet, using injection molding to keep the design lightweight. Plus, the Taggert helmet delivers on what every rider wants: a fit so adaptive you’ll forget it’s even there. Three key features let you ski and ride comfortably, all without sacrificing style.
Construction
In-mold construction combines a durable polycarbonate outer shell with an absorbent foam liner, blending hard and soft materials for optimal ventilation. This fusion makes the Taggert lighter, cooler, and more breathable than traditional helmets.
Fit System
Unique to the Taggert, the In Form 2 Fit System lets you dial in the perfect fit in seconds. And the best part: You won’t even need to take off your gloves. The improved dial design on the helmet’s outer shell allows for up to six centimeters of adjustment.
Ventilation
The passive-aggressive venting system combines a discreet exterior venting system with interior channeling. The result? Optimal airflow and temperature regulation for any type of winter adventure.
“At the end of the day, it’s about the athletes,” Lewin says. He’s excited to see what riders and skiers can achieve with the Taggert.
