Rabat, January 15 (QNA) – Arab culture ministers stressed the importance of promoting cultural and creative industries as well as investing in the Arab world’s rich human, cultural and creative resources. .
This was announced in the closing statement of the 24th Arab Ministerial Conference on Culture held on Wednesday in Rabat under the theme “Culture and Creative Industries: Challenges of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence.” The Ministry of Culture and the Arts represented the Ministry of Culture at this meeting.
Ministers emphasized the need to create a platform aimed at integrating efforts and exchanging experiences to address challenges.
Participants called for steps to be taken to respond carefully to the changes brought about by artificial intelligence in creative professions and to address challenges related to skills and ethics.
The conference adopted a draft forward-looking plan for the development of cultural industries in Arab countries and the recommendations of the Standing Committee on Arab Culture, calling on the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) to: . Consider the implementation of its contents in coordination with relevant authorities in Arab countries.
Noting ALECSO’s continued role in coordinating Arab activities and providing conditions for smooth communication and constructive cooperation between Arab countries and institutions, the Arab Ministers of Culture entrusted the organization with a cultural program. He called for expanding the scope and future plans.
He also congratulated Morocco on hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, along with Spain and Portugal, and Saudi Arabia on hosting the 2034 tournament.
They suggested that hosting this event would be a great opportunity to highlight Arab organizational capabilities for global events and promote the Arab world’s cultural and creative industries.
At the end of the meeting, the Arab Ministers of Culture expressed their approval of the request submitted by Iraq to host the 25th Arab Ministerial Conference on Culture in 2026, and welcomed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s hosting.
