Sheffield United have increased their interest in Stoke City striker Tom Cannon with a formal £7m bid, sources have told Football Insider.
Sunderland are also interested in Cannon, who is on loan from Leicester City.
The 22-year-old is a regular starter for Stoke, scoring 11 goals in 25 appearances this season.
The Potters won the race to sign Cannon last summer, with multiple EFL clubs interested including Hull City and Norwich. Manager Chris Wilder also expressed interest at the time, but the move never materialized.

Sheffield United currently sit third in the Championship and are aiming for promotion to the Premier League.
However, their league performance has been poor lately, with only one win in the last four games. They are two points behind leaders Leeds United and recently lost to Cardiff City in the FA Cup.

Cannon will provide a much-needed boost to their attacking options alongside the likes of Ryan Hone and Rhian Brewster.

However, for a deal to take place, his current loan spell from Leicester would necessarily have to be shortened.
