Delhi Elections 2025: Chief Minister Atishi filed his nomination for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls on Tuesday, January 14, weeks ahead of the February 5 Delhi Assembly polls. Atishi is the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Kalkaji constituency.
The Delhi Chief Minister used Atishi Marlena as her name in the affidavit. Atisi gave up her surname Marlena in 2018, sparking political controversy. “Marlena”, a mix of Marx and Lenin, was given to her by her parents.
₹76.93 Net worth
Atishi declared a net worth of ₹76.93,374.98 as movable assets. This includes Rs 30,000 in cash and gold jewelery worth Rs 100,000. The remaining approximately Rs 75 million is kept in banks as FDR and savings deposits. According to her affidavit, Atishi does not own any real estate. The Delhi Chief Minister does not own a car or a house.
Atishi has been appointed as the next Chief Minister of Delhi, replacing Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal decided to step down as CM in September last year.
Mr. Atishi’s income in 2023-24 was Rs 962,860, while in 2022-23 his income was Rs 472,680.
The 2025 Delhi elections are scheduled for February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8.
Atishi’s financial disclosures have raised eyebrows as he prepares for the 2025 Delhi elections.
The state chief minister is vying with Ramesh Biduri of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Alka Lamba of the Congress for the high-profile seat. Bidhuri, an experienced politician and former MP, won the Tughlakabad assembly seat in 2003, 2008 and 2013. Lamba had been with AAP for nearly five years and joined Congress in 2019.
Mr. Atishi defeated Mr. Dharambir of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2020 elections, winning the seat with a margin of over 11,000 votes.
“Today, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, I have submitted my nomination. I hope that I will continue to receive the same love in the future as I have received love from the people of Kalkaji till now. ” Atisi said after submitting his nomination letter. Nominated on Tuesday.
Atishi was scheduled to submit the documents on January 13 after the roadshow. But the roadshow caused delays and I couldn’t get to the DM’s office before the 3pm deadline.
