Liverpool have no intention of hijacking Man City’s plans to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmouche, sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds were previously rumored to be interested in signing the 25-year-old, who has been making waves in the Bundesliga this season.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (6 January) that Man City have held preliminary talks with Frankfurt star Marmouche and his representatives over a potential transfer.
Josep Guardiola’s side have named the Egyptian international as a possible replacement for Julián Alvarez, who left City for Atletico Madrid in the off-season.
Liverpool have not had Marmouche on their radar during this period and are pursuing alternative targets.
City are the leading club in the push to sign the free-scoring striker, leading the race in the early stages of the mid-season transfer window, which ends on February 3.
