The CISO Society and RegScale released the State of Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM) report, providing insights from around 200 CISOs regarding the struggles many organizations face with the shifting threat landscape. According to the report, CISOs in every sector face challenges with:
- Data silos
- Manual processing
- Staffing issues
- Limited integrations
- Inadequate adoption of modern tech
94.2% of CISOs believe CCM could improve compliance and security by improving visibility, automation and compliance efforts.
Many CISOs (51.6%) report difficulties with maturing compliance programs. 42% state data and system silos are the main barriers, while 40.4% cite an absence of centralized systems. 95% do not believe their programs are optimized for continuous improvement.
Budget constraints are another issue CISOs face. When choosing compliance solutions, 71.8% prioritize cost and 46.2% cite inadequate budgets as a hurdle for adopting compliance tools.
