2017 F-150
I really wanted these to be the tail lights I was looking for, but they’re just not. They’ve got a couple issues that really take them down a few notches. The first and most glaring issue is the fitment. I have Anzo headlights and they fit great, but these taillights both fit fairly poorly and are not made terribly well, as when I first started putting in the first tail light, as I was lining up the pins and hardly putting pressure on the light at all one of them broke off. Within like 2 minutes of me opening the box… Ah well, I put it in anyways, being familiar with the time-consuming Stage 3 return process, and also thinking that the screw in the back would keep it in well enough. I was wrong. The headlight even with the screw in wobbles all over the place and has a huge gap unless I’m physically pushing the light into place. Here’s the catch though – both headlights are like this, even the one that still had all of the pins. They’ll look just fine for a second, but then I’ll take the truck through a touchless car wash and when I’m done they’re super misplaced and look terrible… My second issue with them is that the red illuminated LED strip is actually white when the lights aren’t on. The LEDs aren’t strong enough to light them very well during the day, so if the tail light ever illuminates in the sun/during the day the color of the strip is more of an orange rather than a deep red, which looks super cheap. Also, the white casing of the LED strip is two pieces, and they meet in the middle of the headlight where there’s a huge line, and this catches the sun when the lights are off and is very visible, also making the headlight look cheap. You can see the line in the product photos. Lastly, and the final straw, is that now after just over 4 months with the lights, I’m getting condensation in one for the first time ever with any aftermarket light. I had hoped that at this price point these lights would be at least a usable visual upgrade over the stock lights, but unfortunately they are only good looking from a distance and have poor quality materials. I work in a business that sells plastic products, and I understand that sometimes you get a bad patch of pieces that are overly brittle or fragile. But the quality of the plastic doesn’t change the poor fitment or condensation issues, leading me to believe that Anzo just didn’t put enough effort into making this light acceptable quality. It’s a bummer, as I had hopes for this light, and I like the look of Anzo products, but after this and a persistent issue with my Anzo headlights (which has happened again on my second pair) I’m afraid I can’t recommend these at all. On the plus side, they look nice at night…
